Sui Upgrades Consensus Engine with Mysticeti v2 to Boost Transaction Efficiency
Sui's latest upgrade, Mysticeti v2, marks a significant leap in blockchain performance by embedding transaction validation directly into the consensus process. The overhaul eliminates the pre-consensus validation step, slashing latency and computational overhead.
The new Transaction Driver replaces the Quorum Driver, reducing bandwidth and CPU demands. Validators now batch signatures within consensus blocks, accelerating throughput without compromising security. Mysten Labs engineers unveiled the changes on November 6, building upon July 2024's DAG-based model that first improved Sui's transaction speeds.
